How can I support my Church Pastor?
Supporting your Pastor
As a Christian it’s vitally important that you support your Pastor.
“Dear brothers, honour the officers of your church who work hard among you and warn you against all that is wrong. Think highly of them and give them your wholehearted love because they are straining to help you. ” (Life Application Bible) The NIV says, “hold them in highest regard in love because of their work.”
The bible makes it very clear that God establishes leaders in the Christian community. Their role is vital to the mission and ministry of the local church.
--Pray for your Pastor (Priest, Minister, Presbyter or whatever you call them!)
--Use your gifts in the Christian community. You pastor doesn’t have all the gifts of the Spirit.
--Support your pastor’s vision.
--Make you relationship with God a priority. If you are growing in the Lord you will be a tremendous encouragement to your pastor and whole church community.
--Don’t criticise your pastor. If you have a concern speak directly to them. (Matt. 18:15f, Tim. 5:19, Matt. 5:23-24.)
--Be gracious and forgiving to your Pastor. They are human
